How does a steam cleaner?

A steam cleaner works very similarly to a pressure cooker.
The water is heated to the boiling point in a boiler to produce steam sealed. This process takes 1 to 6 minutes per liter of water.
Tip: Obviously if you use hot water will save the heating process.
During this process, the boiler pressure rises to 4.0 bar, depending on the model. You can create more steam if the tank is not filled to the brim. Otherwise, the surface to be cleaned is initially too wet and soggy. The Kaercher Steam Cleaner meet all safety standards and have received certifications from both the German authorities and other international institutions. All electrically conductive parts are resistant to water splashes.

1. Tip: appliances – safety standards
For security reasons, all electrical equipment have to disconnect the power before you begin cleaning with steam.

Two. Tip: Softening
After using the steam cleaner three times, have to empty the boiler and rinse with cool water to remove lime deposits. Depending on the water hardness of your drinking water network, descale your steam cleaner regularly with decalcified Kärcher RM 511.

Surfaces covered with fat

1. It is true that stainless steel is fashionable, but only if it looks good and aesthetic is not covered in fat. The flat surfaces are cleaned with manual nozzle and terry cover.
2. If the oil film is persistent, the only way to remove it is to continue rubbing and pressured with repeated bursts of steam.
3. Fat accumulates in the tissue so it is recommended to change the cloth, the time to be working with the steam cleaner.
4. Work on the surface gradually, alternating with the nozzle in one hand and a clean cloth in the other.

Cleaning kitchen ovens and burners

1. Keep the burners clean kitchenware is often a problem, but not if you have a steam cleaner. Only has to place a stainless steel spiral, available at any hardware store, on the brush roll.
2. No need to worry, the coil in combination with steam, not scrape kitchen burners, as the steam creates a cushion on which the spiral slides while you’re cleaning. For the cleaning of boards and corners, only use the detail brush without any other accessory.
3. In the same way, you can clean the inside of your oven. Before you start, always remember to disconnect the network from the oven for safety reasons. Reduce the flow of steam for better visibility while cleaning the oven. Therefore in this case, as in the cleaning of cooking burners terminate the task of drying the surface with a cleaning cloth.

Cleaning joints and corners

1. To clean individual meetings, use the detail nozzle with a circular brush.
2. A direct steam jet and quickly gets rubbed remove even the most persistent dirt or grease or embedded.
3. After steam cleaning, wipe the surface with a paño.Tenga caution in applying the steam jet on silicone joints very short, so that the material is not damaged.

Cleaning Instructions for Mixers

1. To avoid that can scratch the chrome fittings and stainless steel, use only the mouthpiece for details. Keep it close to the object you are cleaning and wait until it has dissolved lime. If it is persistent or is located in a hard to reach place a brush on the nozzle, and if-needed-use the brush with scraper. Rub the stain with strong gusts of steam cleaning.
2. To remove thick layers of lime, first, advise you to spray a few drops of vinegar on lime and leave it on for five minutes.
3. Find that regular cleaning prevents steam from reforming layers of lime.

Cleaning tile floors

1. In those cases where persistent dirt, wipe the tile at first only with the floor nozzle. The effect of the bristles rub removes scale.
2. For daily maintenance, or after cleaning described in point 1, place a cloth on the floor nozzle. Fold it, let a piece of cloth protruding from both sides and snap them into the tab you will find on each side. In this case, we used a microfiber cloth Kärcher available as an optional accessory.
3. After spraying the steam nozzle dynamically slide forwards and backward by releasing steam jets only occasional. To get a result really “clean” I suggest that you move the nozzle for further tiles in a diagonal position.

Cleaning hardwood floors

1. Both hardwood and laminate floors are not a problem. Clean only two cloths (= 4 layers) so that a small amount of steam reaching the surface. Reduce the vapor stream to a minimum (if your steam cleaner model has a steam setting).
2. Use the SC 1702 steam cleaner steam mode only. Work quickly when cleaning the floor. Do not direct the steam nozzle to a specific place for longer than necessary and make sure no puddles. The remaining moisture dries quickly without leaving marks.

Window Cleaner: With tip window

1. When you use your steam cleaner first, then first operation “basic cleaning”. That is, pass the manual nozzle covered with a cloth for each glass and then pass it again with a dry cloth.
2. Below the window cleaning nozzle, first wet the glass with steam and then remove all the moisture with the rubber lip, starting from the top down. In winter apply heat on cold windows at a distance of 5 cm.
3. You want to clean the outside windows, pay attention to the following security warning: The steam cleaners are made for internal use and for security reasons do not have to take outside. We have solved the problem.
4. The next window cleaning that takes place after that initial basic cleaning, we will be much easier. Simply apply over the entire window steam, strip by strip, both internally and externally, and working from the top down. Keep the nozzle about 10 cm from the crystal.
5. Now remove the remaining moisture past the rubber lip on the glass, strip by strip and working from the top down. To prevent spotting, dry wipe the rubber lip after each strip.
6. In case after passing the rubber lip has been some occasional mark, no problem: simply wipe with a dry cloth to finish unmarked.
